In these difficult and uncertain times, people find strength, consolation and hope in prayer.\u00a0Holycross Abbey will remain open for prayer each day. You are encouraged to come and pray before the Blessed Sacrament, follow the stations of the Cross, recite the rosary or sit quietly in the presence of the Lord and experience his presence and closeness to us, our families and communities in these anxious times.<\/p>\n
The priests of the parish will continue to celebrate Mass daily for the intentions and wellbeing of all our parishioners. Frs Tierney, Ryan and Mullaney gathered on the morning of the 3rd Sunday of Lent to celebrate Mass at the altar of Abbey for the intentions of the People of God of Holycross and Ballycahill. It is a great source of sorrow and difficulty for us to celebrate Mass without our parishioners, but you are united to us in our prayers and Masses each day and we are united to you.<\/p>\n
In the current emergency situation, all are dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass. Currently Mass is streamlined daily from Thurles Parish at 11am from the parish website (thurlesparish.ie). You are encouraged to follow Masses broadcast on Tipp FM, Tipp Midwest, RTE or EWTN.\u00a0 RT\u00c9 will air Mass every weekday at 10.30am on RT\u00c9 News Now. RT\u00c9 News Now can be accessed on Saorview (channel 21), Sky (521), Virgin Media (200), Eir (517) as well as via the RT\u00c9 Player, the RT\u00c9 News Now app and via RT\u00c9.ie\/news.<\/p>\n
If you have an IPhone you can also download some useful resources for daily scripture readings, prayers and reflections on the Apps: Give Us This Day or Universalis. In the coming week further prayer resources will be posted on the parish website. Families are encouraged to pray together the rosary.<\/p>\n
This is an occasion for all of us \u2013 especially in families \u2013 to pray more intensely for each other and especially for those who have succumbed to the illness. \u00a0We should pray also for those at the frontlines \u2013 especially doctors, nurses and medical staff and other carers, including clergy \u2013 that the Lord will protect them as they place their own wellbeing at risk in the service of all.<\/p>\n
