National Tree Week<\/h2>\n

To celebrate 2012 Tree Week, Ms. Doran\u2019s 3rd<\/sup> class visited the Biodiversity Garden on the Cashel Rd.\u00a0 Joe Bourke of the Holycross Development Association spoke to the children on the gardens features and trees were planted to celebrate the event.<\/p>\n

C\u00f3ineart\u00fa\/Confirmation<\/h2>\n

Our 5th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> class pupils are continuing their programme of preparation for Confirmation on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Community Centre with the Faith Friends Programme.<\/p>\n

C\u00f3r na Scoile\/School Choir<\/h2>\n

The children in 2nd<\/sup>, 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup> classes are practising for the Confirmation Ceremony to be held on Wednesday March 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Confirmation is always a great day for the school and families involved.\u00a0 We look forward to the occasion.\u00a0 Many thanks to all the teachers for all their work in preparing for Confirmation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Iom\u00e1int\/Hurling<\/h2>\n

Our Annual School League is in full swing.\u00a0 Lunchtimes are busy as the teams do battle for those valuable league points.\u00a0 All the children enjoy the games and it gives them an opportunity to practice and hone their skills.\u00a0 The fixtures for the Cumann na mBunscoil competitions have been announced.\u00a0 Our school hurling and camogie teams will be in action after the Easter break.\u00a0\u00a0 Good luck to the following boys and girls who will represent Scoil Miche\u00e1l Naofa at the Primary Game selection days:<\/p>\n

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2012<\/h2>\n

Beidh Com\u00f3rtas Trath na gCeist do Bhunscoileanna ar si\u00fal sa Leabharlann \u201cThe Source\u201d i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge.<\/p>\n

To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, from 5th<\/sup>-17th<\/sup> March, Thurles Library have organised a Tr\u00e1th na gCeist on Monday 12th<\/sup> March.\u00a0 Representing Scoil Miche\u00e1l Naofa ar an bhfoireann beidh Eoin Ryan, James Ryan, Ben Slattery, Colin Nolan, Bryan O\u2019Mara agus \u00c1ine Dunne.<\/p>\n

World Book Day<\/h2>\n

A representative group from the school celebrated World Book Day with a trip to Bookworm, Thurles kindly facilitated by John Butler.\u00a0 They were also entertained in the Library by wonderful story telling with Denis Kenny.\u00a0 The day was celebrated in each class in the school with children dressing up, bringing in their favourite books and conducting book reviews.<\/p>\n
