C<\/strong>\u00f3<\/strong>ineart<\/strong>\u00fa<\/strong>\/Confirmation \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The children in 5th<\/sup> & 6th<\/sup> class will be making their Confirmation in the Abbey on Wednesday March 28th<\/sup> at 11 o\u2019clock.\u00a0 Preparations have been underway for the past few weeks and we wish the pupils, their families and their teachers Mr. McGrath and Ms. McCormack the very best for this special occasion.\u00a0 A group photo will be taken immediately after the ceremony in the cloister.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

School Choir\/C<\/strong>\u00f3<\/strong>r na Scoile<\/strong><\/p>\n

The children in 2nd<\/sup>, 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup> class are practising for the Confirmation Ceremony for the past few weeks.\u00a0 The choir will be on the altar along with the pupils from Ballycahill N.S. and I know their singing will add to the occasion.\u00a0 They are to wear their school uniform on the day.\u00a0 Children to be in their places at 10.45 p.m. \u00a0 Many thanks to Ms. Lowry, Ms. Doran, Ms. Clarke and Mrs. Tuohy for all their work with the choir.<\/p>\n

School will be closed next Wednesday March 28th<\/sup> for Confirmation.<\/p>\n

Sp<\/strong>\u00f3<\/strong>rt ar Scoil \u2013 Sport in our School<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our annual School Hurling League is continuing at a pace.\u00a0 Every lunchtime four teams do battle on our hurling pitch. We have been blessed with great weather to play the games.<\/p>\n

Camogie-Ms. Corcoran, Ms. Doran and Ms. McCullagh continue to prepare our camogie players for the forthcoming championships on Monday evenings.<\/p>\n

Our Junior Infants are currently enjoying their coaching sessions with John Butler on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Soccer coaching \u2013 James Scott F.A.I. has begun coaching with the boys and girls from 4th to 6th. After Easter it will be the turn of classes 1st to 3rd.\u00a0 James is ably assisted by parent Thomas Dwan.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday March 29<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pupils from 2nd<\/sup> to 6th<\/sup> class have been invited to participate in a fun Sports Development Day in the Dome, Semple Stadium.\u00a0 The day will consist of fun sports activities where competition and winning takes second place to sporting enjoyment.\u00a0 Patrick Ryan and Tommy Ryan, Level 6 Sports & Recreation PLC Students have been visiting our school in recent months coaching sports activities and introducing the children to new forms of activity and exercise.\u00a0 It promises to be a great day out.\u00a0 A bus will bring the children to and from the Dome.<\/p>\n

Coin Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our P.T.A.\u2019s\u00a0 \u201cCoin on Friday\u201d campaign continues every week.\u00a0 To date we have collected \u20ac90.\u00a0 Monies collected will be put towards the P.T.A. fundraising.<\/p>\n

G\u00e1ird<\/strong>\u00ed<\/strong>n na Scoile\/School Garden<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Spring in the air, 5th<\/sup> class have been busy preparing the garden for planting next month.\u00a0 Each class will have their own individual planting areas.\u00a0 We look forward to harvesting the produce in the Summer.<\/p>\n

Seachtain na Gaeilge<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scoil Miche\u00e1l Naofa team of James Ryan, Eoin Ryan, Ben Slattery, \u00c1ine Dunne, Bryan O\u2019Mara and Colin Nolan gave a strong performance in the Tr\u00e1th na gCeist and did us proud.<\/p>\n

Holycross\/Ballycahill Camogie Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Club wish to thank all parents who sent in tokens over the past few weeks.\u00a0 They have now\u00a0 reached their target and have submitted their application for new playing gear through the scheme.<\/p>\n

Dearbh\u00e1in Tesco\/Tesco Tokens<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tesco Tokens are on the go again.\u00a0 If you are shopping in Tescos please collect the tokens and send them into school.\u00a0 We can exchange the tokens for sports equipment to use in our P.E. programme.<\/p>\n

B<\/strong>\u00f3<\/strong>thar Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Thursday 29th<\/sup> March our Junior Infants will take part in a 1Km Sponsored Walk in support of B\u00f3thar, an Irish charity group we have supported in the past.\u00a0 The children will travel to Templemore by bus and the walk will take place in the wooded area of the town park.\u00a0 They will wear special t-shirts kindly sponsored by Ely\u2019s Photo Centre.\u00a0 I am sure Ms. McCullagh\u2019s infants will have a great time.<\/p>\n

Saoire na C\u00e1sca \u2013 Easter Holidays<\/strong><\/p>\n

Easter holidays begin on Friday, March 30th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The children will go home at 12 noon.\u00a0 School will re-open on Monday April 16th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
