Hfc u/13 boys advanced to the next round of the national cup courtesy of a penalty shootout win over connolly celtic (clare).
The sides were level at 3-3 after extra time.We were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes, both goals scored by Eoin (chucky) morris. Connolly celtic pulled one back in the first half and got a deserved equaliser in the second half.extra time saw connolly celtic edge in front, however a Paddy Mc grath free kick took the game to penalties.
Eoin ryan was the hero in the penalty shootout saving two penalties .
The Holycross marksmen in the shootout were Paddy Mc Grath, luke o shea and Mikey Nally.

Holycross ‘A’ V Nenagh ‘C’.
Holycross were comprehensive 5 – 2 winners over Nenagh ‘C’ in Nenagh on Sunday last. The home side went ahead first. Holycross were then awarded a free kick which Justin Shelly scored to level the score. Holycross kept this good form going and Colin O Meara found the net to take the score line to 2-1 at half time. Holycross upped the ante in the second half with goals from Dan Corbett and Colin O Meara. Nenagh scored to make it 4-2 to Holycross. However Holycross closed up shop with Dan Corbett finding the net once again and Holycross taking all 3 point home with them. Good performance from John Paul Buckley, Liam Dwan and Seanie Comerford.
Holycross ‘B’ V Clodiagh Rangers.
Holycross and Clodiagh Rangers shared the spoils on a 2 all score line in Glenbane on Sunday last. Clodiagh Rangers took the lead 26 minutes and got the second one just before half time. Holycross came out strong in the second half and got a goal from Brian Shanahan. Within 5 minutes Holycross were awarded a free kick which was blocked and the rebound came out to David Joyce who levelled up the game. It was all Holycross at this stage and they did everything except finding the net and had to settle with a point each. Good performance from Mick Carr, Brian Shanahan and John Fogarty.
