Student Teachers
The student teachers from Hibernian College and Mary Immaculate College have been teaching in classes recently. We are delighted to have them on board and gaining experience here in Scoil Micheál Naofa.
Road Safety
As part of a Road Safety initiative, Ms. McCullaghs Junior Infants are being give a Road Safety Kit, which includes a high viz vest along with other items to highlight and educate the children to be vigilant on these dark mornings and evenings.

The Christmas Carol Service will take place in the Abbey on Wednesday 21st December at
7.30 p.m.
Team Hope
Well done to 6th class who raised €574 on Friday last selling Butler Chocolate Bars for the Hope Foundation.
Christmas Cards
Any day now we expect to take delivery of the lovely cards designed by the children. We are looking forward to seeing the finished product. After production costs the funds raised will be handed over to the P.T.A. Many thanks to Ms. Lowry for organising this initiative.
Dissolving Boundaries
Ms. Clarkes 4th class are taking part in a North South schools based project that brings pupils together using technology. We are linked with Richmount Primary school in Portadown in Co. Armagh. They will collaborate on a number of projects throughout the year, e.g. online communication and video conferencing. Finally next spring both schools will get to meet for an adventure day.
Book Launch
Our 5th and 6th class pupils were the recipients of much favourable comment following their performance at the book launch of The Awakening of the Abbey by Willie Hayes last week. Their singing and poetry readings set the tone for a lovely evening. We were very proud of their performance and their preparation by Ms. McCormack and Mr. McGrath. Una Crowe a former teaching colleague provided the musical accompaniment.
Christmas Greetings
Children from all classes are involved in a global project which involves our sending a Christmas greeting to schools in Budapest, Hong Kong, America, Canada and Dublin. We are hoping in the coming weeks to receive greetings from schools in these areas. Our tracking boards can be viewed in the main corridor. Many thanks to Ms. O’ Brien for co-ordinating the project.
