Crossogue House, Ballycahill, Thurles will feature on RTE television on Sunday evening next when At Your Service, the programme hosted by the Brennan brothers- owners of The Park Hotel in Kenmare- will help create a business makeover for the mid-1800’s country house which was destroyed by fire in 2010.
The house, owned by Mark Molloy, has been in the family for many generations and has undergone huge renovations following the fire, making it a very attractive short-break, weekend, holiday and summer destination with a huge emphasis on pony trekking and horse riding.
The Georgian House has been home to the Molloys for years, but in recent times, Mark has found a real niche in the market in European and international tourists coming to Crossogue to enjoy the rolling hills and the many challenges they provide on horseback. Teenage residential equestrian camps are particularly popular in Crossogue, which is also renowned for it’s award winning preserves carefully prepared by Veronica Molloy and her team – many of her recipes had been passed on to her by her mother-in-law, Nancy Molloy.
The programme airs at 8:30pm and will see the rise from the ashes of Crossogue, which nestles on the bank of the Farney River, to a thriving business once again. Check it out on RTE 1 on Sunday evening at 8:30pm.
