Holycross’s Domhan Glas Environmental Group in cooperation with the Tidy Village Associations are delighted that we are almost at the ready for Spring Clean 2022.This is the 5th year in a row we have taken part in the An Taisce Spring Clean, targeting the six approach roads, to the beautiful village of Holycross.
This year, is a bigger, broader initiative as we are reaching out to our neighbouring communities and parishes on to other end of each of our approach roads. Our goal, an end to end spring clean of these 5 to 7km stretches that we all use daily and weekly. We are inviting Tidy Village groups, volunteers, residents and local groups to get involved as we reach out to communities in Ballycahill, Moycarkey, Clonoulty and Boherlahan as well as the residents and users of the Cabragh and Beakstown Roads.Groups are encouraged and advised to register as soon as possible with An Taisce for the clean up materials, gloves, bags, pickers and high viz bibs. Domhan Glas will have these kits available from mid February.
We will nominate dates for each road in the coming weeks and look forward to taking to the outdoors in a spirit of community cooperation and a demonstration of “Pride in our Place”.
Meantime we appeal to all road users, walkers, cyclists and motorists to ” Pick & Pop ” this year. Pick a piece of litter when you are out and about, and Pop it in a bin, while paying great attention to the safety of all road users.So if you have an hour , a half an hour, a morning or an afternoon to give to your community and the environment , do contact us for equipment and dates for your particular road or area.
