Our logo is S.I. which means Scouting Ireland. We are a multi denominational co. educational youth base association.
SCOUTS: 11 TO 16
CUBS: 8 TO 11
BEAVERS: 6 TO 8
BEAVERS
We meet once a week on a Monday night from 6.30 to 7.45 for Beavers. We have three leaders Margaret Manning, Frances Coleman and Michelle Tuohy. We have games, arts and crafts and other activities. We have a programme that involves badge work. Each beaver stays in the unit for two years and they work towards their badges by doing good deeds and small projects in their copies. We take the beavers to the fire station and the cinema. We currently have 28 beavers and a waiting list for 2010.
CUBS
Cubs meet once a week on a Thursday night from 6.45 to 8.00. There are two leaders. Breada Moloney and Joanne O’Neill. They do arts and crafts and have fun in the local community hall. There are currently fifteen cubs.
SCOUTS
The scouts meet once a week on a Friday night from 8.00 to 9.00. There are two leaders Denis Manning and Martina Stakelum. They play games, they participate in a lot of outdoor activities e.g. hiking and camping. There are currently twelve scouts.
All the above groups participate in quizzes, outdoor cooking, hiking, family fun days and day trips away. We all have an annual beaver day, cub day and scout day. This is a day where all the groups from all over Ireland join up together, they meet new friends from different units and participate in activities together.
