A free Diocesan Family Fun Day in preparation for the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) will take place at Tipperary Racecourse on Sunday, 29th April from 1.00pm to 4.30pm.
Our colourful poster* gives an outline of the day, which includes plenty of fun activities for families and young people – from water zorbing to an obstacle course, a liturgy of prayer and an exhibition of what is happening in our diocese. It will include a special walk for teenagers. It will be a real family day out! *Visit our diocesan website; www.cashel-emly.ie – pastoral resources for more details.
As part of the Family Fun Day on Sunday, 29th April young people (16+) from each parish are invited to participate in a Youth Walk from Tipperary Racecourse to the Famine Graveyard in Tipperary Town and back to Tipperary Racecourse. The walk begins at 12.45pm sharp from the Tipperary Racecourse to return for the Liturgy @ 2.30pm. During the next week each parish will receive a timber slot which can be carried by the young people from your parish on the walk and be used in the Liturgy. The timber slots can be decorated by the young people taking part using the theme SOS (Stroll on Sunday). Please note: each slot has a consent sticker which must be signed by the all u18 participants and their parents/guardians.
Also, all families with primary school children in our diocese have been invited to participate in a Family Art Project. Please check with your child’s primary school for more details. Arrangements are being made with the primary schools for the collection of the artwork (on April 20th) for display at our Family Fun Day on Sunday, April 29th at Tipperary Racecourse.
