North Tipperary County Council held their monthly meeting in the John Doyle Sports centre on Wednesday of this week. It was a historic day for the parish of Holycross/Ballycahill when the mayor, Michael Lowry Jnr had the privilege of welcoming his fellow members of the council to this new building. During the meeting members of a local group had an opportunity to make a presentation outlining the wonderful potential of Holycross Ballycahill for tourism. This group made up of local business and other interested people have been meeting regularly under the Ambassador programme with the help of Mr. Ciaran Lynch of LIT, Thurles campus in order to develop a strategy to promote and develop tourism and so enhance local businesses. We take this opportunity to wish them well in this worthwhile initiative.
