Holycross Ballycahill

Down Syndrome Tipperary Branch Mass.

ds3Saturday last marked a wonderful occasion for Down Syndrome Ireland, Tipperary Branch when Mass was celebrated for families and young people of special needs. A large congregation was present for this wonderful celebration. The Holycross Abbey choir sang at the Mass celebrated by  Fr. Tierney. It was an opportunity for the special needs children to be actively involved in the Mass bringing symbols and the offertory gifts to the Altar. They were also involed in leading the prayers of the Faithful. A special moment at the Mass was provided by Shannon O Halloran reading a Communion Reflection on the uniquness of each individual. Special thanks to Sandra O Halloran of Cormackstown and the other organisers for the hard work involved in organising this event. Many of those present finished the evening by retiring to the Community Centre where a meal was enjoyed by all. Well done to all present!
